Horsehair Pots

These horsehair pots are called such because the black marking is created by horsehair laid onto the pot before it is fired, causing it to burn into the glaze and create striking patterns.  My friend Jacqueline Stanford makes these amazing pots and these two were custom made for some friends of mine using hair from the tail of their own horses.  There's nothing like a gift that is both beautiful and meaningful.  You can order pre-made or custom horsehair pottery from Jacqueline here.
